  • Meet our new Ocean and Coastal Law Fellow, Giulianna Pendleton! We asked Giulianna several questions to get to know her better.

    1. Where are you from?

    I’m from Los Gatos, California

    2. What was your first job?

Outside of nannying, my first job was at a gardening and outdoor furniture store in my hometown.

    3. Who inspires you?

My family inspires me. My parents have figured out the art of doing what they love while also giving back to and being part of their community. And my brother excels at anything he tries, from chess to art to coding.

    4. What made you consider a career in law?

Since high school I knew I wanted to pursue a career in environmental conservation, but it wasn’t until college that I realized law could be an effective avenue to create change and help me become a better advocate for the environment.

    5. What are you most excited about doing this fall?

This fall I’m looking forward to attending some Ole Miss football games and exploring more of Oxford—especially Square Books!

    6. Where’s your favorite beach?

There are too many to choose from! Having grown up in California, I was spoiled with the state’s abundant coastline. If I had to choose one, I would say Rio Del Mar in Aptos, CA. I grew up going to this beach with my family and close family friends and there is incredible wildlife, including dolphins, whales, and bioluminescence.

    7. What do you do in your free time?

I enjoy reading, yoga, and many outdoor activities including running, hiking, and cycling.

    8. Do you have any hidden talents? What are they?

Though I haven’t practiced in ages, I’m pretty good at juggling a soccer ball.
